"The other day my mom and I decided to sign up for a jeep tour through high tide to journey into the Baja California sur desert to el cañon de la zorra (fox canyon). Carlos met us at our hotel and took us to zippers (local surf spot) to pick up our jeep. We headed north to a small town called Miraflores where later in the day we would eat at a small local restaurant.
Once we got on the dirt road Carlos let me drive the jeep the rest of the way through the washed out backroads. First, we went to a natural hot spring that Carlos had discovered and described as a bit of a local secret. When we visited, we were the only people there. From there we headed to the fox canyon waterfall. I wanted to hop the cliff above the waterfall so Carlos showed me a few spots where I could safely make the 50-70 foot leap into the deep pool below! To demonstrate he even tossed a backflip off the top rock to prove it. Carlos had a lot of knowledge about local foliage, history, and secret spots in the area and was very helpful in answering all of our questions. His friend who owned the restaurant had caught the tuna he used to make the fish tacos that day!
All in all it was an awesome day and Carlos made it even more spectacular. Definitely recommend the trip!"
"My boyfriend and I went to Cabo San Lucas in the beginning of February to the Hyatt Ziva. During our time there we went on an off roaring tour with a tour guide named Che. He was absolutely phenomenal, was extremely helpful and educated on the tour he took us on. It was a full days excursion which started with a hour and a bit drive along the coast of the Sea of Cortes. We took a jeep and had the option to drive it as well on our tour. We stopped at once along the trip to take pictures on the way there and as well see a tree which he explained to us was a medicine tree that was once one of the only sources of medicine for the locals. As well, when we continued driving we saw a road runner crossing the road and as well a donkey which we stopped to feed.
Once we got to our destination, Cabo Pulmo we got to snorkel for as long as we liked. It was absolutely beautiful and known as the aquarium of the world and now we know why. Che brought a star fish over to us and let us hold it. On the way back from this excursion we drove home on the Baja 1000 which was such an incredible experience being the off road lovers that we are. This is definitely a MUST for anyone who enjoys off roading, snorkeling and adventure. On the way back we stopped at a local restaurant for food. This was all included with the excursion as well as granola bars and water. We had some of the best tacos we have ever had! Che was extremely helpful in educating us of all the history of the towns, the things to do each days of the week and was extremely friendly.
I recommend this excursion 100% and any High Tide excursion at that. Anytime going for the off roading tour, snorkeling and kayaking tour, or stand up paddle board tour ask for Che, also known as Rodriguez. Could not have asked for a better time, or way to spend our day."

"This excursion was everything we could hope for. I feel it was so perfect because of our wonderful guide Rodrigo Alvarelious. He took the time to give us options, and really tried to understand what we could handle physically and what we were looking to get out of our day trip. His personality was easy going and he was very informative.
Our tour itself was exactly what we were looking for. A beautiful drive by the coast and through the mountains, a bit of History of Santiago, a beautiful hike into the Fox Canyon, and a fantastic lunch in San Jose (the smoked Marlin tacos was the tip of the day from Rodrigo). My husband shared with Rodrigo that he was a bird watcher, and he did his best to point out or slow down when a cool bird was near. Because of this he was able to spot a new bird for him, a Caracara. When we were hiking I forgot my hat and wouldn't you know it, Rodrigo had one for me. It was a long tour, but there were many times we could stop to use a washroom and snacks and water were provided for us before lunch. The only thing that could have made it better is if I wasn't too afraid to jump off the rock. I guess I'll have to live through my Husband and Rodrigo, who actually flipped off of it trying to inspire me! The waterfall wasn't completely full this time, but I don't think it took away from the beauty one bit.
This was the best way we could ended our trip to Cabo and I highly recommend others doing this tour, using this this company, and most of all asking for Rodrigo Alvarelios! Enjoy!"
