Dinner & Cruise with Live Music - Budapest
Budapest has many faces; and this vibrant city calms down a little bit at night, when lights are lit and the city springs anew from out of the twilight. Dinner and Cruise with Live Music is designed for those who love to embrace the stunning views this city has to offer - swimming in the lights of a romantic candlelight atmosphere, while enjoying a romantic dinner on a boat with live music. Meals are prepared by the exceptionally talented Chef Molnarka Peter.
Salon music is performed by the three-member orchestra set Hungaria Folk Orchestra, winner of the Zoltan Kodaly award -- including the world famous violinist Zsigmond Vidak, who was awarded the Bronze Merit Cross of the Hungarian Republic.
You will catch a glimpse of the Budapest Panorama, which was was added to UNESCO's World Heritage List by in 1987. One of the reasons this site was selected is that the banks of the Danube River at Budapest illustrate the various periods of the capital's history, and, not to mention, the city has one of the world's most beautiful urban cityscapes. The Budapest Panorama stretches from the Chain Bridge (Clark Adam Square) to the Technical University on the Buda side - an area containing the Gellert Baths, Mount Gellert with the Freedom Monument and the Citadella, as well as the building ensemble of the Buda Castle.
After dinner feel free to admire the cityscape's magnificent panoramic views from the open-air upper deck of the ship. If you wish to skip dinner altogether, the cruise is available with a drinks-only option -- which is a great way to end your night by enjoying a beautiful night panorama over a glass of champagne, wine, beer or drink of your choice.

"We went on the dinner cruise recently. The occasion was absolutely wonderful. The food was excellent and the musicians most enjoyable. We would highly recommend."
"Decided to take this dinner cruise for my birthday. It set off at Sunset, and we were given champagne and shown our seats as we boarded. Then, we got our choice of either a bottle of wine (Go for the Chateau Dereszla Tokaji white wine - it's expensive but worth it!) or a glass of wine. There was plenty of water on the table.
As 3 members of the Hungarian Folk Orchestra started playing, we were sent to the buffet style dinner. the food selection was filled with Hungarian goodies and plenty of selections of soup, salad and entrees (all you can eat). They also had about 4-6 different types of dessert. All were lovely. As the meal ended, the band walked around and took suggestions for a fee. My lovelydinner table mates requested a round of Happy Birthday, I requested Moon River, and then when the band found out we were all visiting from Ireland, they played Danny Boy much to our amusement.
Overall, the quality of the trip, the beauty of the city, and the fabulous music and food made for a memorable birthday that I won't soon forget. Oh - and the wine? I found the bottle I got on the boat was cheaper than buying it at the Airport. So check around the Tobacco shops (they sell wine too) before you think of buying it at the airport. :)
PS - Gentlemen - if you want to propose to your lady - this would be a great, romantic place to do it. :)"

"I was recently in Budapest and after a a few long days of sightseeing my partner and I decided to just take it easy and do a Danube river cruise. We bought a ticket from a street vendor for a cruise left at 7 o'clock at night and serves a buffet dinner on board.
Let me tell you, seeing the city at night from the river during the wintertime is absolutely beautiful. The food was very good too, with plenty of different things to choose from. We got to taste stuffed cabbage, chicken paprika and greaves cream (a cream made of tiny bits of bacon), which are traditional Hungarian foods, they are definitely heavy, but they are delicious! If you don't eat meat, don't let that stop you from going, because they have a bunch of veggie dishes as well.
And did I mention they have live entertainment on board? There where three musicians playing gypsy music, which was also very interesting, as I'd never heard it before. I say do the dinner cruise on the Danube if you're ever in Budapest, totally worth it for the sites, the food and the music. The staff is also super friendly and helpful!"

"Hungaria Koncert is the best deal in Budapest! A terrific show, a delicious dinner AND a scenic boat cruise for the cost of a movie, popcorn and dinner at McDonalds! The site has EASY payment options. The staff quickly and politely answered all of my questions via email. And they were attentive and helpful when we arrived at the theater! The show was amazing -- lots of energy. Dinner was wonderful--traditional Hungarian dishes and some well known British foods--all served with a glass of Hungarian wine. Nothing compares to the Danube at night. The perfect evening. HIGHLY Recommend!"
